Painting the Inside....continued

So remember my inspiration piece?

So pretty! I originally bought it thinking it could be the piece for my downstairs palette. However, when I showed it to Wade, he wasn't thrilled about the gold in the pillow. I assured him the gold was just a color and didn't mean that our house was going to be all 90's gold all of a sudden. Hahaha.

So yesterday when he said, "since we're painting Emma and Rylee's room, we should paint our room too" Yay! And I brought the pillow upstairs and it became the palette piece for my room instead.

Wade is so wonderful to me and let's me steer the direction of our decor. Of course, he has no problem telling me when something is butt ugly but, he usually likes what I like. Or at least, that's what he says.

We spent all morning painting Rylee and Emma's room a color called Mango Madness (Behr-Home Depot). Although, Rylee will tell you it's more the color of Goldfish crackers and I say it's more Cheetos. Haha. Whatever, it's orange and it makes her happy so, it's perfect.

It is bright for sure and the room glows when you come up the stairs. I smile and laugh every time I walk up.

Back to my room, we began painting in the late afternoon and finished even later. It was dark and with the work lights, HOT! We knocked it out in what seemed like record time. It was nice because the room was white to start, it took one coat and was a breeze.

Because we got done so late, we couldn't get a good look at what the true color was. I woke at the crack of dawn waiting to see it in the sun. It was worth it. It's so pretty.

The room needs a few accessories. Home Goods is calling my name but, it's on its way finally and I can't wait.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

This is our second Valentine's Day together and our first as a married couple. We don't do elaborate here. Last year, I made him a card a gave him a bucket of sour candy for his desk. This year, Megan at Buck and Libby, drew me this cute picture of us for a card, I put new batteries in his watch, and gave him an individual pack of sour candy (watching' our weight here people!).

He has bought me flowers the last two years. Last year, it was a bouquet that he had to arrange because I.don't.arrange.flowers. This year, he bought me a beautiful tulip plant that I informed him I would kill with my black thumb. This is what he said, "that's ok, it only has to last until tomorrow". Haha, I love him for knowing me so well.

We don't go out to dinner on Valentine's because we both hate crowds. I am so fine with that. I would rather be home with him anyway where we can relax and drink and laugh at each other. That's what I'm excited about tonight. Today is his early friday and the beginning of a three day weekend for us. Yay!

Happy Valentine's Day, my friends!

Painting The Inside

My house is white throughout. Except for two bathrooms, there's color in there. Haha. My bathroom is a beautiful gray. I love it. We are thinking about painting this summer as our big project. And trust me, it is going to be a huge project.

Here's the huge problem to go along with that......I am so afraid of choosing a color! What if I hate it? What if I love it and then a couple moths down the road, I hate it? Oh the pressure.

I bought a pillow yesterday. I think it's my inspiration piece for my whole house palette. It's so pretty! Wanna see it? Ok!

Isn't it so beautiful??  I love it. I still have to show it to Wade to see if he even likes it.  The other thing? I haven't liked blue since I was pregnant with Tyler, 20 years ago. But, I think this will be so beautiful with beige's and creams and silver accessories and a bit of gold thrown in here and there for color. What do you think? I'm excited!

I Have The Best Husband In The World

Guess what? I'm writing this post from my new Mac Book Pro! Yay!

Maybe Wade thought my blog posts would be less depressing if he bought me a new computer? Haha. Sure, we'll go with that.

About a week ago, he came to me with his grand plan, we were going to each get a new Mac as our Anniversary and Birthday presents. Of course, I said yes. I won't miss getting a present on our anniversary or even my birthday. I will miss being able to buy something for Wade for his birthday though. I'll find a way around it, don't you worry.

It was very exciting walking into the Apple store and picking up our pretty new computers. I've never had a new Mac before. My last one was a hand me down. Best hand me down ever but still, second hand. This one is mine. All mine. Never been touched by another. It's the coolest feeling.

So, here's to happier blog posts in the future!
